PRESSURE REGULATING VALVES

PRESSURE AND SAFETY REGULATING VALVES

Pressure regulating valves are used to adjust the working pressure in equipment with high-pressure pumps.

Regulation is possible between zero and the regulator’s maximum design. Unconsumed pumped water at the outlet is diverted via the return or “bypass” of the pressure regulator to a tank, drain, etc… The pressure regulating valve permanently functions as a precise safety valve, preventing the regulated pressure from being exceeded.

Pressure regulating valves can be classified according to their operating mode and regulation method.

OPERATING MODE

Automatic pressure regulating valves: When the pressurized water outlet is closed, the pump does not generate pressure and the motor works without load. They are used for work with guns, foot valves…
-Maximum pressure or discharge regulating valves: When the usage is closed, the pump remains under pressure and the motor works with load. The valve functions only as a pressure limiter. They are used when it is generally not necessary to cut off the outlet, for example in sewer cleaning work. For types operated with a pneumatic regulator, in addition to the basic discharge version, the leak-free discharge model is available. In this other type, in the non-pressure position, in addition to releasing water to the return, it internally closes the outlet orifice to prevent dripping to the outside.

REGULATION METHOD
Manual: Via screw, lever-cam.
Pneumatic: Via a pneumatic cylinder actuated with regulated compressed air.
